JANUARY: We kicked the year off right with a trip to the Big Apple. Accompanied by friends (and Kaleb), we partied like it was 2006; we made it past midnight multiple nights in a row! The highlight of the weekend was watching a taping of Saturday Night Live in Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center.
FEBRUARY: February is undoubtedly the worst month in the calendar. But the cold and gloom were tempered this year with a weekend of hosting friends from the Notre Dame Drumline.
MARCH: The SNL trip was tough to top, but just eight weeks later we were back for another bucket list event: Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden. Go see him while you can.
APRIL: April brought two quick trips to warmer locales. While Katie attended a work conference in Austin, Kyle got to hang out with childhood friends. Two weeks later we joined family in South Florida for the wedding of Katie's brother Josh.
MAY: We finally reached a month of reliably warm temperatures... well, except for the one weekend we went camping. The tent survived the monsoon, and Pierce (seen below on a much warmer May day) questioned our sanity as he buried himself under a mountain of blankets.
JUNE: June was the highlight of last year, and it didn't disappoint in 2016 either. On June 30 we left for our honeymoon/first anniversary trip to Europe. The cross-pond adventure was a first for both of us, so we crammed in all the traditional highlights. The first three nights were spent in Rome. Three words to describe Rome: old, hot, and gelato.
JULY: Next up were a day in Venice, two nights in Paris, one night in Normandy, three nights in London, and two nights in Lucerne. We made more memories than can be summarized in one paragraph.
AUGUST: We had the privilege of hosting a clan of Chamberlins as part of a weekend-long celebration of Grandma and Grandpa Chamberlin's 65th anniversary.
SEPTEMBER: In September, some friends staying with us hosted a tailgate. It was about the only good thing to happen this football season.
OCTOBER: In October, we took in a second viewing of Hamilton. It's still good.
NOVEMBER: In November, we went to Las Vegas to (sort of) run a marathon. Wait, were we supposed to run before this thing as well?
