Highlights of 2015

JANUARY: January brought the realization that, after an initial flurry of wedding planning activity in the weeks following our engagement the prior February, we hadn't done much of anything for ten months. The preparation got underway in earnest on New Year's Day, and the majority of our free time in the next five months was spent getting ready for the big day. January was also when Katie got to go on a work trip to Orlando while Kyle stayed at home and worked on wedding preparation.

FEBRUARY: The celebration of Grandma Hull's 96th birthday was a raucous affair. Even at our rapidly-advancing age, we are blessed to have five of our grandparents still with us.

MARCH: Kyle enjoyed watching one of the best postseasons in Notre Dame basketball history. The games were so exciting that even Katie watched.

MAY: May was when Katie got to go to Las Vegas while Kyle stayed at home and worked on wedding preparation.

APRIL: April was when Katie got to have a party (shower) while Kyle stayed at home and worked on wedding preparation.

JUNE: The main event! We will forever cherish the time spent celebrating with family and friends.

JULY: July brought the best of summer in the Midwest: kayaking, road races, sand volleyball, camping at Potato Creek, weddings of college friends, and blueberry picking (followed by an awesome pie baked by Kyle).

AUGUST: Katie went on a trip and this time Kyle got to go too! In addition to stops at our usual haunts, a weekend trip to New York included three musicals: Finding Neverland, Fun Home, and Hamilton! [Here's to buying tickets before the show opened -- and before they became ridiculously expensive.] If you have ever enjoyed a musical -- and maybe even if you haven't -- you must see Hamilton.

SEPTEMBER: September was when Kyle had a work trip to Washington D.C. and Katie got to go along.

OCTOBER: October brought a trip to see the Irish in action at Clemson. After she stood in the rain all game and slept in the rental car when the hotel failed to honor the reservation, it was also when Kyle forgave Katie for the earlier fun she had without him. Side note: the visiting fans are not provided very good seats at Death Valley.

NOVEMBER: Unseasonably warm November weather brought opportunities for late-season kayaking and short-sleeve leaf raking -- mostly leaf raking.

DECEMBER: Two weekend trips - Austin and Charleston - to take in concerts with old friends capped off a year of amazing memories.
