Trespassers

The same two or three fishermen were sighted on five occassions over a three-week period in March, 2020. The Champaign Police were called and confronted them on their second visit. The police were also called for their third visit, but they left before the police arrived.

On November 5, 6 and 7, 2020, these fishermen returned to our west shore. A patrol car came out on their second visit and David Pecknold confronted them on their last visit. They were somewhat contentious in both cases but left soon afterwards.

The same fishermen returned multiple times during the second week of October 2021. They parked the same burgundy Ram 1500 truck as shown in the photo on Duncan Road. The Illinois license plate was 3068129B. The Champaign police were notified with a 911 call on their third visit on October 12, but refrained from sending an officer due to staff constraints.

In the past, we have approached such visitors and cordially informed them that this is a private lake.

If trespassers are seen in the future, please take photos of them and their vehicles (including license plates) and forward them to a Board member.
