Tanaga
Tanaga
A tanaga is a Filipino poem that is traditionally written in the Tagalog language and consists of four lines, each with seven syllables. It often has a rhyme scheme of AABB or ABAB. Tanagas are often about love, nature, or the beauty of the Philippines.
Here's the tanaga with an AAAA rhyming scheme:
War's a raging storm's fierce might,
Crushing all in its cruel fight.
Peace, a gentle breeze's sigh,
Bringing calm, where shadows lie.
War leaves scars that long remain,
Peace brings healing like soft rain.
War's a tempest, wild and strong,
Peace, a melody, sweet and long.
