Definitions of CETA-ROR Settings
Building Classroom - the traditional public school provided in a brick and mortar setting. The original CETA-R was written for staff providing educational services (including special education and related services) in this setting. Most of the CETA-ROR has stayed the same for this setting, but specific examples and tools are now included.

Online Learning Platform - student is enrolled in a public school system and receives educational services (including special education and related services) outside of the traditional brick and mortar school building through an online process determined by the public school system. This includes synchronous and asynchronous examples and tools. Although the student is located in a remote setting, the “online learning” part of the CETA-ROR was designed for the brick and mortar teacher who has changed to teaching with an online platform.
Online Learning Platform - student is enrolled in a public school system and receives educational services (including special education and related services) outside of the traditional brick and mortar school building through an online process determined by the public school system. This includes synchronous and asynchronous examples and tools. Although the student is located in a remote setting, the “online learning” part of the CETA-ROR was designed for the brick and mortar teacher who has changed to teaching with an online platform.
Remote Learning Locations - student is enrolled in a public school system and receives educational services (including special education and related services) outside of the traditional brick and mortar school building through a process determined by the public school system. This is typically in the home setting with a parent, caregiver, or tutor providing face to face guidance over the curriculum that the school district provides. Student may also engage in a hybrid with either building classroom or online settings. Remote learning is different from homebound services and was written specifically with the educational response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
