- Read
- Recover credits; No D's or F's (if applicable)
- Prepare for SAT. Visit Khan Academy for more practice. College Board research shows that if you devote 10 hours of time to Khan Academy, your score will improve by 100 points!!!! Please note that not all universities require the SAT/ACT. UC/CSU does not.
- Take a summer course at a local community college
- Join a summer program, take on an Internship or an Employment opportunity

- Maintain grades - college admission officers pay close attention to your junior year
- Volunteer in your community (See volunteer section)
- Meet with your counselor to discuss your grades and your plans
- Join clubs and participate in sports
- Introduce yourself to University representatives who visit your campus, many times for privates, this the person who will see your application and decide yay/nay for your app.

- Maintain grades - college admission officers pay close attention to your junior year
- Meet w/ your counselor if you need to improve your grade or recover credits for a core class for graduation or college
- Make a list of colleges you plan to attend (Safety, Reach, Dream)
- Participate in school events (workshops, college representative visits)
- Join clubs and participate in sports
- Attend college fairs (see NACAC website's calendar)
- Start thinking about who to ask for a letter of recommendation. If you are applying for programs, scholarships you will need one. However, you will definitely need them when applying to private schools your senior year. Some schools are very specific as to who should write the letter, really depends on your major.
- Take SAT in the Spring: sat.org/register and ACT; See your counselor for a fee waiver if you receive free/reduced lunch and see Testing section for steps on how to register.
- Take AP exams if you took AP Courses. If you get free/reduced lunch you qualify for a fee reduction.
