The Drill Team is one of the most challenging teams we have to offer at Central. With strict regulations, in accordance with TC 3-21.5, as well as difficult practices, this team is composed of the best marching and drilling unit throughout the entire battalion. The Drill Team uses demilitarized M-1903 Springfield Rifles. We have 2 main sections of Drill: Armed and Unarmed, which break down into more focused portions of the team.
There are three parts that the Drill Team practices for when they go to compete at Drill Meets. Inspection, where the team is inspected and graded in accordance with regulations AR 670-1 and CCR 145-2. Regulation Drill, which is a rigorous sequence provided by the school overseeing the meet, which is in accordance with TC 3-21.5. The last portion is Exhibition Drill, which is the most relaxed portion of Drill Team. For Exhibition, the team creates a freestyle sequence, which can compose of spins, ripple effects, and rifle tossing.
