Cadet Staff

Welcome to the Cadet Staff. This page outlines the Battalion Staff, composed of the Battalion Commander & the Personal Staff (Composed of the Battalion Executive Officer and the Battalion Command Sergeant Major) as well as the Coordinating Staff (Composed of the S-1 and the S-6 and the Senior Advisor). The Staff is the face of the Battalion, they are behind every event that the Bobcat Battalion coordinates or participates in. In the Staff, the Cadets get to a more hands on approach with publicity experience, rigorous event coordination, and much more. These mix of Cadets pose a variety of strengths in different areas, so everyone is welcome to join! Next to each Staff member, you will find who they are as well as their positions and responsibilities.

Battalion Commander & Personal Staff

Battalion Commander (BN CO)

C/MAJ Pedro Escalante

Duties:

Responsible For Everything The Battalion Succeeds And Fails To Accomplish
- Ensure That Staff Members Are Capable and That They Understand Their Responsibilities To The Battalion Executive Officer, and The Corps Of Cadets
- Make Operational Decisions For The Cadet Battalion
- Train Lower Class-men To Assume Responsibility Of The Battalion For The School Year 2019-2020

Pedro is the Varsity Color Guard Commander & is part of the Stryker Team. He is also the AVID Club President and is part of the Academic Decathlon Team. After High School, he plans on attending Texas A&M School of Medicine & become an anesthesiologist.

Battalion Executive Officer (BN XO)

C/CPT Jennifer Garcia

Duties:

First In Succession of Command
Train and Supervise Coordinating Staff
Conduct Monthly Staff Meetings
Plan & Organize Annual PUHSD Military Ball

Jennifer is part of the Marching Band and the Varsity Basketball Team. After High School, she plans to attend Yale University & obtain and PhD. in Nuclear Engineering.

Command Sergeant Major (BN CSM)

C/CSM Jennifer Huynh

Duties:

Preside Over All Non-Commissioned Officer Promotion Boards
Supervise The Color Guard and Flag Details
Assume Command of Battalion in Absence of all Officers

Jennifer is part of the National Honor Society (NHS), Zamari Dance Company, and Link Crew. After High School, she plans to attend ASU and obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Coordinating Staff

Adjutant Officer (S-1)

C/PFC Virginia Hatch

Duties:

Maintain Cadet Records and Personnel Files on Web JUMS
Prepare and Publish Unit Orders such as Promotion and Award Orders
Publish Alpha Rosters
Serve as Recorder for Staff Meetings

Virginia is part of the Anime and Chess Club. After High School, she plans on enlisting into the US Army, attend ASU and obtain a Bachelors of Arts in History for Secondary Education.

Security Officer (S-2)

C/SGT Sean Donahue

Duties:

Complete Weapons Issue Sheet for Issuing of Equipment and Weapons
Conduct Security Checks of Supply Room and Armory
Maintain Building Cleanliness and Physical Security

Sean is greatly involved within his church. After High School, he wants to attend GCU and obtain a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and then commission into the US Navy.

Operations & Training Officer (S-3)

C/CPT Cindy Mahr

Duties:

Third in Succession of Command
Publishes Operation Orders and Training Schedules
Supervise the Cadet Challenge
Input Events into Web JUMS
Conduct Staff Meetings in absence of Battalion XO

Cindy is the PT Commander and part of the Color Guard. She's the National Honor Society (NHS) President at Bioscience HS and advocates for higher education for DACA with Aliento. After High School, she plans to attend the Air Force Academy and commission in the Air Force. She later plans to attend Medical School and obtain a Medical Degree in Dermatology.

Supply and Logistics Officer (S-4)

C/1LT Makoa Kalani

Duties:

Issue/Receive Uniforms at the Beginning/End of the School Year
Maintain Cadet Clothing Records
Produce Award and Promotion Packets
Web JUMS

Within JROTC, Makoa is the JLAB Team Commander as well as being part of the Stryker Team and Color Guard. After High School, he plans to enlist in the US Army as an Infantry 11B Division, attend ASU and obtain a Masters Degree in Engineering and Mathematics.

Public Relations Officer (S-5)

C/PFC Mariah Tasby

Duties:

Promoting Favorable Image of JROTC
Publish Monthly Newsletter
Schedules to Visit Feeder Schools
Primary Point of Contact when Liaison is Required with other JROTC Units

Mariah is part of the PT Team. She's also in Theater, an officer in the Participatory budgeting at Bioscience High School, and Poetry Club. After High School, she plans to attend UofA, join the Air Force ROTC Program, and ultimately commision into the U.S. Air Force.

Special Projects Officer (S-6)

C/CPL Ryne Prochinewski

Duties:

Assists the SAI with Special Programs of Cadet Involvement and Community Relations
Assists in Liaison Activities with Parents of Cadets and Prospective Cadets
Primary Officer in Planning of New Events and Incentives for JROTC

Ryne is part of the Scale Modeling Club at Brophy College Prep. After High School, he plans on attending ASU with an Air Force ROTC Scholarship, obtain a Bachelors Degree in US History and commission into the U.S. Air Force.

Senior Advisor (SA)

C/1LT Anthony Medina

Duties:

Primary Assistant to SAI
Assists other Cadet Staff Members when needed
Responsible for Maintenance and Accountability of JROTC Cadet Fund
Responsible for Coordination and Organization of JROTC Fund Raisers

Anthony is part of Central's newly established Link Crew and is the Honor Guard Commander as well as being part of the Color Guard. After High School, he plans on enlist in the US Army. Later he plans to attend Gateway Community College, obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering and become a Software Developer.
