Eucharistic Ministry

Eucharistic Ministry In The Diocese of Central Newfoundland

A Eucharistic Minister is a lay person authorized by a license from the Bishop to administer the Consecrated Elements at a Celebration of Holy Eucharist.

These ministers have been raised up by the parish and congregation because of mutual discernment and have received training in the history, form and function of the Eucharist and training in the liturgical practice of the Diocese and home parish.

Training takes place in the congregation, by a member of the clergy and if desired with assistance from the wide variety of diocesan resources.

Before training begins, there is to be a meeting of the vestry or parish council to affirm they process of training for this ministry.
