PRIVACY POLICY
Effective Date: September 14, 2026
GhostInbox respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the GhostInbox - Private Temporary Email Chrome extension processes information when you create and use temporary email inboxes.
GhostInbox provides temporary, receive-only email inboxes that can be used for legitimate privacy, testing, sign-up, and inbox-protection purposes.
GhostInbox allows users to:
Create temporary email addresses
Receive incoming emails
Read temporary email messages inside Chrome
Copy temporary email addresses
Refresh temporary inboxes
Clear temporary inbox messages
Save temporary inbox information
Use custom aliases and multiple inboxes where available
Activate GhostInbox Pro Lifetime
To provide its functionality, GhostInbox may process the following information:
Temporary email address
Temporary inbox identifier
Temporary inbox access token
Custom inbox alias selected by the user
Custom inbox label selected by the user
Incoming email sender information
Email subject
Email message content
Email received date and time
Temporary inbox status
Extension settings and preferences
GhostInbox activation ID
GhostInbox license information
Pro activation status
GhostInbox processes this information only to provide the features requested by the user.
Incoming emails sent to a temporary GhostInbox address must be processed by temporary-email infrastructure in order for those emails to be received and displayed.
When you open GhostInbox, the extension may request:
A list of messages in your temporary inbox
Message sender information
Message subject
Message preview
Full message content when you open an email
GhostInbox does not use email content for advertising, behavioral profiling, or marketing.
Full email message content is not intentionally stored permanently by the GhostInbox Chrome extension.
Temporary-email infrastructure may retain messages for a limited period according to the operation and retention policy of the temporary-email service being used.
Users should assume temporary inboxes and messages are not permanent storage.
GhostInbox uses Chrome storage to keep information necessary for the extension to work, including:
Temporary inbox addresses
Temporary inbox access tokens
Inbox labels
Active inbox selection
Extension preferences
Pro promotional preferences
Activation ID
License information
Pro status
This information may remain on the user's device until it is cleared or the extension is removed.
GhostInbox does not require users to create a GhostInbox account to use the Free version.
GhostInbox requests only permissions needed for its functionality.
Storage permission
The storage permission is used to save temporary inbox configuration, inbox access information, extension preferences, activation information, and Pro license status.
Host access
GhostInbox communicates with temporary-email API infrastructure using HTTPS so it can:
Create temporary inboxes
Retrieve available temporary-email domains
Check incoming messages
Read selected messages
Clear temporary inboxes
This network access is necessary for the core purpose of the extension.
GhostInbox may store an access token associated with a temporary inbox.
This token is used only to access that temporary inbox and retrieve its messages.
Users should treat temporary inbox access as temporary and should not use GhostInbox for highly sensitive information.
GhostInbox Pro Lifetime may be purchased through PayPal.
Payment takes place on PayPal's website.
GhostInbox does not collect or store:
Credit card numbers
Debit card numbers
Bank account information
PayPal passwords
PayPal login credentials
Payment information entered on PayPal is processed according to PayPal's own privacy practices and terms.
GhostInbox may use information related to a completed purchase, such as a transaction reference supplied by the purchaser, solely when needed to verify a Pro purchase and issue a license.
GhostInbox Pro may use:
A locally generated Activation ID
A cryptographically signed license key
The extension verifies the license to determine whether Pro features should be enabled.
GhostInbox does not use license information for advertising or profiling.
GhostInbox does not sell, rent, or trade user data.
GhostInbox does not use temporary inbox data or email contents for:
Advertising
Targeted advertising
Behavioral profiling
Credit scoring
Lending decisions
Data brokerage

GhostInbox does not transfer user data to third parties except where necessary to provide the extension's requested functionality.
For example:

GhostInbox does not share temporary email activity with advertisers.
Different categories of information may have different retention periods.

PayPal may retain transaction information according to its own legal, financial, and privacy obligations.
Users may remove GhostInbox data by:
Clearing an inbox
Creating a replacement inbox
Removing saved inboxes where supported

Removing the extension removes locally stored GhostInbox extension data from that Chrome profile, subject to Chrome's own storage and synchronization behavior.
