AGENDA 2030

The CEIVINDICO network seeks to provide a socio-discursive exploration of digital communities across different platforms. More specifically, we will focus on how discourse as a social practice becomes an essential part in the transmission of ideologies that challenge some core values underpinning the EU: gender equality, LGBTQI+ rights, an inclusive EU citizenship and actions to combat climate change. By doing so, the network will support the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals in at least 7 specified goals.

Driven by our past and current experiences elucidating the socio-discursive dynamics behind gender equality, LGTBIQ+ rights and the violent manifestations against them, the team will incorporate:

- Goal 3, understanding that gender-based violence and violence against different gender identities still entail risks as a global health concern.

- Goal 4, working to ensure that learners at different communities acquire the knowledge and skills to promote human rights, gender equality, a culture of peace and non-violence.

- Goal 5, insofar as any form of gender-based violence hinders gender equality and impacts negatively on the empowerment of all women and girls

- Goal 16, when excluding any form of violence as an obstacle to achieve peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development.

Also fuelled by our own research on populist rhetoric and the socio-discursive construction of migrants, we specifically contribute to:

- Goal 10, when attempting to empower the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin or economic status.

- Goal 4, when promoting global citizenship and cultural diversity.

Guided by external members of the team to better understand the role of digital communities in climate change, the team will work towards:

- Goal 13, by improving awareness-raising, education and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning.
