Hiking with the Prophets

We will meet each Friday morning at 7:00 by the north doors of the Institute, then carpool to a different trailhead each weekend. We will take a talk from one of the prophets to study somewhere along the way. This class has three primary purposes:

1. Make connections among God's children in the wonders of God's creations.

2. Study God's word in the wonders of God's creations.

3. Introduce you to several local hikes in the wonders of God's creations.

Coming Closer to the Savior Through Music

The combination of sacred words and inspiring music can create powerful moments that bring us closer to Christ. This class will help you make connections to Him as we study the meaning behind the sacred texts of our hymn book.

Finding Christ in the Old Testament

The lives of many Old Testament prophets and priests are similitudes of the great Prophet and Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ. We will look at these great leaders and draw comparison to the life of the Savior. Nephi taught, “All things which have been given of God from the beginning of the world, unto man, are the typifying of [Jesus Christ]” (2 Ne. 11:4).

The Temple: Preparing for and Understanding

Whether you are preparing for your first temple experience or your hundredth, this class will expand your understanding of the ordinances and covenants made there.

Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage

This course will give us a wonderful opportunity to study the life and mission of our Savior Jesus Christ.  We will develop a firm faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, His divine authority and power, His benevolence towards men, and His Atonement for us in a much deeper way.

Missionary Preparation

Missionary Preparation is designed to help students prepare for full-time missionary service by focusing on the doctrines, principles, and counsel found in the scriptures, words of the prophets, and Preach My Gospel.
