BROTHER JOHN BANKS
Brother John Banks was born and raised in Southern California where he participated in high school sports. He then served a mission to Ecuador, Guayaquil. He met Tammy Jones of Cedar City while attending SUSC, and they were married in 1983 in the St. George temple.
He graduated from SUSC with a degree in Chemistry and a minor in Biology. He received his Master's degree from BYU in Recreational Management with an emphasis in Youth Leadership. Tammy and he have five children, 3 boys and 2 girls, and 9 grandchildren.
He has taught seminary in Kanab, Fredonia, Canyon View, and Cedar before coming to the institute. He loves outdoor activities and is a certified scuba diver. He loves his family and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
