How to Apply to EAEDC
Log onto SNAP and create an account if not done already- be sure to save the login info in case management documents
Fill out an application on the DTA site
This is a timely process, it will take time to get a response
Requirements
Must be disabled with no other source of income
Must be waiting for SSDI or SSI
Need various forms of ID
Authorization for reimbursement
Massachusettes identification
Proof of residency
Proof of SSDI/SSI application filing
Social Security Card
Proof of homelessness
Important: There are more documents required for EAEDC. The initial forms are “authorization for reimbursement” which is a signature saying they will pay back the DTA later if they are approved for SSDI or SSI and the funds come
out of their retroactive payment automatically. They may also ask for Mass ID, proof of residency, proof of SSI or SSDI sign-up, social security card, proof of homelessness or living situation (Lease) or homeless proof letter from a nonprofit agency.
Helpful Tip: Discuss your eligibility for EAEDC with your case manager - You cannot have any other income to get this cash assistance (may only be subject to exception if you work extremely few hours per week).
