Generally speaking, each SRO requires an individual application, which may have different requirements. Again, an SRO is set in a dorm-like style. Most contain 20+ rooms in a large building with a public shower and kitchen to be shared amongst all residents. This is commonly the least ideal source of shared housing, leading to (on average) lower wait times.

Caritas Communities Housing Solutions:

The Pine Street Inn is one of Boston's largest homelessness service providers, offering meal assistance, emergency shelters, and a network of over 900 permanent SRO units for at-need individuals throughout the greater Boston area. YMCA - Greater Boston Housing Program:
The Greater Boston YMCA offers a variety of housing assistance programs (in conjunction with the Boston Housing Authority), including the Huntington House, which has 67 single-room occupancy units available to all. There are also family-oriented programs, including the Mystic Place Scattered Site and the Families in Transition (FIT) program.
