*CHAMP & CHAMP Emergency Housing Share a Common Application*
To apply, follow the prompts on the linked website below.
Important: Be sure to save the username and password in case management notes. Many agencies apply individuals for CHAMP and do not store their email and password. It is so common that clients will forget the email they used and then they have an extremely difficult time getting back into their CHAMP portal in the future.
During the application process, the following question will appear:
Did you become Homeless in any of the following ways? (you will be required to provide documentation to verify your claim(s) below)
Displaced by fire.
Displaced by natural forces (i.e. flood, earthquake).
Displaced by urban renewal or eminent domain.
Displaced by condemnation of home or code violations.
No fault loss of housing - such as condominium conversion, owner wants unit for personal or family use,
or discharge from nursing home or long term care facility.
Victim of abuse (domestic violence).
Severe medical emergency.
None of the above
(Above) This is the Emergency Housing Criterion. If the applicant is homeless for any of the following reasons, they should check off the reason that most explains their situation.
IMPORTANT: The agency that decides emergency housing qualifications is A.S.G. A.S.G. stands for “Archipelago Strategies Group,” which is a centralized screening office secondary to the housing authority. ASG has access to your CHAMP application and will send notifications requesting documentation. For example, if the applicant checks off “domestic violence” as the reason for homelessness, ASG will request police reports and possibly court orders to stay away from the victim. They will require proof of your situation.
