The 6th civilian expert - member of CDC Romania - has been deployed on 1 December 2020 to EUAM Ukraine, after another colleague joining the OSCE SMM Ukraine on 17 September 2020. There are also 3 civilian experts deployed to Ukraine via SIPOL - the Police Independent Union (Romania), which is the founding body of our association (all SIPOL members are de facto CDC members).
Together with the civilian experts deployed under the United Nations in Lebanon, EUCAP Somalia, EUBAM Rafah or the World Food Programme (Burundi), the number of members representing CDC Romania in crisis management missions currently rises to 13.
CDC Romania - Kiev Office
Rather sooner than later, more CDC colleagues will start preparations for deployment to Ukraine, continuing to increase the overall figure of deployed staff in various crisis management missions in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Taking into account the increasing number of deployed staff to civilian crisis management missions eastwards Romania, #CDC_Romania decided to inaugurate its first regional office outside the country.
CDC Romania - Kiev Office covers the Wider Black Sea Area - Eastern Europe and Caucasus, having in mind the missions with CDC presence are located in Ukraine and Georgia. Our staff deployed in the area may find the needed support, assistance and networking opportunities at the regional office, which may also liaise directly with the Missions, as CDC Romania is the seconding authority for some of our colleagues.
