6/9/24 - Briahna and Kaitlyn
¡Hola! ¡Somos Briahna y Kaitlyn!
(Hi! This is Briahna and Kaitlyn!)
Briahna:
Rise and shine! This morning our room woke up at 6:30 and got ready for a yummy breakfast of baked salsa and chips! They were spicy (but still amazing!)!! They also had an assortment of fruits. Afterwards, we had morning devotions with our small groups on reflecting the image and mirror of God. Once we finished our morning devotions, we gathered into the Worship Hall to play a fun game called "Groups of ...". Blue team (aka my team) unfortunately didn't win, but it was still so ultra fun. After the game ended, we got on our busses to the Torre De Salvación Church! Everyone there was so nice and welcoming. They welcomed us with loud worship songs, which were almost deafening! Four of our youth (Hannah, Samuel, Alyssa, and Elijah) also shared their testimonies with the church through an awesome translator along with Uncle David's wonderful message. Everyone was so warm and lovely! They even had THE BEST chimichangas for only 20 pesos (aka $1)! THEY WERE THE ABSOLUTE BEST AND WE COULDN'T GET ENOUGH!! We headed home, eating sandwiches on the bus as our lunch, and got ready for an awesome journey downtown! YAY!! Our entire group got boba and matching bracelets!! By the time we came back from downtown we were all soooo tired, so me and Kaitlyn took a nice and long nap until dinner time.
Kaitlyn:
Hi guys it's Kaitlyn. So this afternoon after we woke up from our wonderful, exciting, empowering, beautiful and powerful nap, I slept first until like 5:50 and dinner started at 5:30 so the other girls brought me dinner. We then ate in the room because I had just woken up, but I didn't eat much and me and Briahna went back to bed. For dinner we had the same like salsa chip thing from breakfast, but with rice and lettuce. It was bus but mine was cold because I ate it a lot later. After our nap it was around 6:30 when we woke up and Auntie Danyang warned the other girls that tonight's skit was going to be emotional. Then at 7:00 pm we went to the worship hall, and played games with baby food, yellow team got second and of course, blue got last. After game time, Ivan shared his message which was about God's Grace. The message itself was already so incredibly impactful, and to top it all off, the skit was a moving emotional piece that reflects our daily lives, and minds. We all CRIED so much. (even the boys). We sobbed so much and it was LIFE CHANGING. The leaders felt our emotions and came up to us to pray for each individual person. The worship team was playing while we were praying, crying, and hugging each other, and it was so touching. Lastly, in the skit, there was this giant board with a bunch of negative words that travel through our minds everyday. Using red paint, representing Jesus' blood, the leaders in the skit used the blood to wiped and crossed out the bad and discouraging phrases. After the skit and praying, we all had the opportunity to use the red paint and cross out the words that scarred and impacted us the most. Representing Jesus' blood, telling us that we are worth it. After the sermon we all went back to our rooms with blood all over our hands and clothes. ME AND HANNAH GOT STAINS ON OUR ESSENTIAL HOODIES AND PINK SHORTSSSSSSS. We are currently trying to wash it out as we speak. It was truly touching, emotional and once in a life time experience and praise the lord for giving us the opportunity to experience this. see you later !!!
