6/8/24 - Irene and Hannah
Hi everyone, this is Irene and Hannah
Hannah:
¡Buenos días! This is the start of day 2 at YWAM. The girls woke up bright and early at 6:30 but finally crawled out of bed around 6:45 but not a shocker to anyone, made it before breakfast started. After being led in a prayer, we devoured a plate of fluffy pancakes, flavorless eggs, crunchy bacon (which sadly fell out of my fork), and of course, a side of fresh fruit.
During our first morning session of the trip, we were taught new dances (which you will learn by us very soon), and learned how to create educational and fun skits for children we will come across about Bible stories (my group, the blue team, chose the Fall of Jericho) so throughout the week, whenever we have availability to spend quality time with the kids, we can demonstrate the stories of the Word of God. After going over our masterpiece many, many times, we took our second meal of the day in the courtyard.
P.S.
I was sending a snap to someone and snipped Kaitlyn's toes. he screenshotted it. shoutout brady
Irene:
After a long of a large plate of nachos, we went back to the worship hall and were split into different groups to practiced making balloon animals, or face painting, or a drama, all of which to experience spreading the gospel in different ways. After we all came back, we begun the main event of the night, the 'Amazing Race'. This race meant for group bonding and physical challenges amongst the color groups and involved a long relay race filled with activities such as a blindfolded obstacle course, catapulting ping-pong balls into bucket whilst all having to hold on to a single rope while moving. The finale was a run to the neighboring beach and cementing two teammates into the sand to form sand-mermaids. I was in the yellow team, consisting of Ollie, Elijah, Allen, Ethan, me, Kaitlyn, and Alyssa, who went out and brought home a historic win for CCIC Tri Valley. We even had to untie a kidnapped Elijah as the last task. Special shoutout to Ethan and Allen for sacrificing their bodies by allowing us to bury their bodies in the sand, dumping sand in their face and ears in the process. The team ended up bringing home an additional 8 points, putting them in 2nd place for the entire tournament. With all the challenges done, sweaty, wet, sandy, and tired, we made our ways back to our dorms, took a long shower, and had a good dinner of chicken alfredo. We finished the day with an impactful sermon by Iván and a wonderful worship. Though it was a long and exhausting day, I can safely say that I had a lot of funs running around the YWAM campus.
From the boy's POV, Uncle David established rules about quiet time in our own personal dormitory. Everybody has to be silent and in their bed w/ no lights by 10:30 PM and we can wake up and talk at 6:30 AM. Uncle David said we did a good job following rules on Day 2(this was written on the morning of day 3). During the evening session, Allen bravely volunteered up to eat some dog food, and he quote on quote said, "It was hella good". In addition, after the massive historic win, pretty much all the yellow team boys had a champagne (*Coca-Cola) popoff celebration in the restroom, which all the coke exploded everywhere. To make our leader proud, we even cleaned up all the mess after the celebration.
See you tomorrow! (yellow team on top)

Second to last task, which required burying Allen and Ethan completely in the sand, only allowing their arms and head to be shown.
