Day 3 - 6/8/25 (Irene Yee and Hannah Chiu)
Hello! Day three of YWAM was certainly an eventful one. Starting the day off strong, we woke up, changed into our church outfits, and ate a hardy breakfast of eggs and sausage burritos with pineapple and yogurt. Following that, we began our first session of the day, in our very own worship hall. After devos, where we talked about what was holding us back from answering God's call. At 11, we set off to our second session, at a local church 30 minutes away. At the church, we were warmly welcomed by the folks there and began with a loud, lively worship. Three of our members, Aaron, Samuel, and Jessica Yang shared their awesome testimonies. It was refreshing going to a new church environment. After that, Ollie began to preach the sermon he had prepared, while the rest of us went outside to teach the kids. We had prepared a skit, the story of God calling Samuel, and a game so the kids could remember it. The church then graciously shared their lunch with us, a wonderful meal of an assortment of sandwiches and burritos(again). We left the church soon later and took a quick 5 minutes to change and get ready to go to downtown. There, we had tons of fun getting ice cream and buying bracelets. We even had a chance to bargain. Overall, the first half of our day was both eventful and exciting. Good night - Irene
Welcome back! We've made it back from downtown and had a decent long break to wash up and enjoy our dinner. At our normal meal time we enjoyed a nice plate of chicken alfrado. As normal, we had free time to rest up before Passion Night. Before Passion Night we were warned that it would be extremely touching. We joined everybody in the worship hall and started with a sermon by Pastor Luis. As a usual, the MA staff gave us a skit, the main point of Passion Night. The skit reflected the pain and suffering Jesus felt during his crucifixion. It led us outside where they hung Jesus onto a big cross. The skit was very touching and emotional as many tears fell this night. People kneeled in front of the cross, prayed for one another, and spent precious time with the Lord. After about 2 hours of crying, we were able to talk to MA leaders and hang out with one another before our curfew began. Another funny thing that came up today for the girls was that we needed to change rooms because our shower hasn't been working since the night before. We had a choice to get a key to another room just to shower, or to move all of our belongings and spend the rest of our trip in a new room. Without hesitation, we carried our packed suitcases into a new room 5 doors down and enjoyed a nice low pressured, warm, and clean shower and room. That's enough for today! See you tomorrow! Buenos noches! - Hannah
