Students must have claimed their CUNYfirst to do this - and most should have done this in the application process.
Click the I Accept Offer button
Students might accidentally or purposefully accept offers as multiple campuses
Many students do not need to pay the $100 commitment fee - usually if they apply with a fee waiver or have a low EFC on the FAFSA. The “Pay Commitment Deposit” will still stay on the screen. If a student pays and they don’t need to, this money will go into their account and be used for tuition.
You’ll know this is done when:
Once a student accepts the offer, the message at the top of “Application Information” changes from “Congratulations you have been admitted” to “Your Application is complete. You have been admitted.” (see visual here)
Students will see key tasks to complete in their To Do list
Note: There may be To Dos that are not for the campus the student is going to - this often looks like seeing the same task multiple times.
See To Dos by campus by clicking on ‘more’ under the To Do List and complete ones that say BCC under “Institution”
Context: Student needs to complete FAFSA and/or TAP -- and make sure the campus is included on it.
What to do: Do your FAFSA or TAP/Dream Act based on the To Do
Context: Student needs to submit the forms required for verification.
You’ll also see what forms the student needs to submit:
2019 Std Fed Tax Trns (2019 Student Federal Tax Transcript)
2019 Parent Fed Tax Trns (2019 Parent Federal Tax Transcript)
2020 V1 Dep Verification Wrk (V1 Verification Form for Dependents)
What to do: Verification Forms are submitted via File Net in CUNYfirst. Directions are here.
Context: Student needs to accept their financial aid award.

Here is a link to help you understand how to upload documents into CUNYfirst
Context: This is a record of the Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccine. For most DOE students this will automatically be sent in July with the final transcript.
What to do: If this is still on the To Do list in late July, follow up with the High School.
FYI: Immunization shows up in the TO DO and the HOLDS sections.
Context: This is a form to show that a student either has proof of a meningitis vaccine or doesn’t want to/can’t get the immunization.
What to do: Click on the link in the To Do, read the document, and either submit proof of meningitis vaccine or select the third option (I have read and understand the risks of not getting the vaccine).
FYI: Meningitis Acknowledgement shows up in the TO DO and the HOLDS sections
Context: Students might have ongoing application steps (ie submit recommendation letter). This won’t be relevant for where the student has accepted their offer.
What to do: Double check which campus it’s for and then you might be able to ignore.

Holds prevent students from registering for classes.
Some To Dos become Holds and you’ll see in both places
**As of June 1, 2021 - our understanding is that Immunization - MMR, Meningitis Acknowledgement and a COVID vaccine will not prevent a student from registering for classes BUT if the student is taking an in person or hybrid class, they will need to submit proof of immunization, Meningitis Acknowledgement and (likely) proof of COVID vaccine.
Context: This is a hold for all new students, it cannot be removed. It means the student needs to speak with an advisor before they can register for classes.
What to do: Speak with an advisor! Check email for information about making a registration appointment.
Context: The student needs to confirm their NYC Residency to receive in-city tuition rates.
What to do: Students who graduated from a NYC high school should not face this challenge. If they do, fill out a form specific to the CUNY college (review by selecting college in navigation bar) or call the admissions office.
Context: The Campus needs proof that the student has graduated to enroll them. For most DOE students this will automatically be sent in July.
What to do: If this is still a Hold in late July, follow up with High School or send a photo of HS diploma to the admissions office with EMPLID
