Spanish Immersion Parents and Teachers

César Chávez Elementary School PTA

Spanish Immersion Parents And Teachers (SIPAT), our school’s PTA, organizes and finances many of the programs our students and families enjoy throughout the year. We are fortunate to have a tight-knit community of families – a community that values language and culture, and deeply appreciates the teachers, principal, staff and academic programs at César Chávez Elementary School. This shared commitment shows... our immersion program is almost 30 years old and growing stronger than ever!

CANCELED: Día De Los Muertos Celebration
Presented By SIPAT

Saturday, November 2nd, 3:00pm-7:00pm on the CCE Blacktop

1221 Anderson Road, Davis

Everyone in the CCE community is invited and there is no participation fee.

As you may be aware CCE has been dealing with an unprecedented outbreak of what is assumed to be norovirus.

It is with a heavy heart, but a mountain of understanding, that we are announcing the cancellation of Día de los Muertos on campus Saturday 11/2.  Out of an abundance of caution, considering the concerns from the Yolo County Health Dept. and DJUSD, we ultimately decided that even moving the festivities to Redwood Park was not going to be workable.  Our responsibility to each other, CCE, and our larger community require us to do the right thing.

The district has ordered a complete closure of the CCE Campus, so that they can conduct a deep cleaning of the school. Please avoid going to the school for any reason over the weekend.

THANK YOU to everyone who has been working behind the scenes for your efforts!

We wish all our sick community members a speedy recovery!  Be well and have a wonderful weekend.

FYI, there are still several other Día de los Muertos celebrations happening in the community.
