Canadian Public Health Week 2024

To celebrate 2024 Public Health Week, the Alberta Public Health Association has released a series of articles to shed light on the critical issues surrounding Public Health in Alberta, particularly in light of proposed changes to Alberta’s healthcare system. With recent proposals stirring concern and uncertainty among health professionals and citizens alike, there's a pressing need to amplify voices that advocate for the protection and enhancement of Public Health services. These five opinion articles aim to provide a platform to discuss the proposed changes, foster informed dialogue, highlight potential implications, and underscore the importance of prioritizing Public Health in any healthcare reforms.

The topics of the Op/Eds are:

2. What has Public Health done for me? The health of Albertans 1924 to today

3. Public Health and First Nation Albertans: A call for collaboration

4. Environmental Public Health: Keeping Albertans safe

5. Public health and civil society: Future challenges

The articles are all written by Public Health experts and supported by the Alberta Public Health Association.
