I obtained my bachelor’s in Social Work cum laude from Oakland University, and a Masters of Social Work cum laude with a concentration in psychodynamics from Wayne State University. It took me several years longer than usual to obtain these degrees due to working full time, which very much contributes to my real world understanding of problems, and allowed time for the information to be understood and applied.  

I have various experience working with the developmentally disabled community; a personal passion that led to my social work journey. I've spent time at a probation department assisting in the substance abuse courts and trials, as well as regular cases. This experience was invaluable to cementing my understanding of a system’s perspective, and the deeper workings of the nature of addiction, and its consequences. I began my official journey to being a psychotherapist in 2019, where I came to understand how one does this work, and felt like I was doing what I was meant to do.

 That all sounds a little too perfect on paper, so let me reassure you, there were plenty of bumps along the way. I love being a therapist and take our work together seriously.  I’m very open-minded, direct, have a sense of humor, and am dedicated to my own learning and growth to help provide the best services I can.
