CONCLUSION
This term, my experience in the Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) class has been transformative and eye-opening. Initially, I had limited knowledge of CAT tools and their significance in modern translation workflows. However, over the weeks, I gained a comprehensive understanding of how these tools enhance productivity, consistency, and accuracy. Learning to navigate platforms like SDL Trados, memoQ, and Wordfast has not only expanded my technical skills but also deepened my appreciation for the integration of technology in the translation industry. The hands-on exercises, including translation memory management and terminology databases, have given me practical experience that I can apply in real-world scenarios. I also came to appreciate how CAT tools help streamline repetitive tasks and ensure a more cohesive translation process. One of the most rewarding aspects was the ability to work with diverse content types, from technical manuals to marketing materials, further refining my translation style. The class also emphasized the importance of quality control, post-editing machine translations, and maintaining high linguistic standards. I feel more confident in my ability to incorporate CAT tools into my future translation projects, making me better equipped for the demands of the industry.
