This year, I had the opportunity to be part of the Core team for the ServICE conference, which is an event that promotes sustainability and the well-being of our planet. As for the Core Team, it was the team that was in charge of planning and organizing the whole event. I was in charge of the Keynote speakers, a crucial responsibility that requires planning and decision-making. I designed the process to select the keynote speakers, interviewing potential candidates and assessing their theme, and ultimately choosing 9 candidates that were going to speak at the conference and bring valuable insights to the attendees. in addition to selecting the speakers, I also helped the individual speakers adjust their topic and theme. This involved understanding their topic, communicating efficiently with them, and deciding what will and what won't add value to the conference. Working in the core team helped me improve my organizational and leadership skills, as I had to communicate effectively, manage deadlines, and make important choices for the speakers who would contribute to the conference. Moreover, I also managed a small team that had helped me with the descsion process of selecting the keynote speakers. this experience was time-consuming, but at the end, it was rewarding and taught me new things, as it helped me understand the complexities of event management and helped me grow as a leader.
