Located along the east coast of Johor, Desaru is a laid-back coastal town that's an easy hour's drive from Johor Bahru. The town boasts a 22-meter stretch of beach, tranquil fishing villages, the Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark, an ostrich farm that's home to over 100 ostriches, and plenty of nature-based activities, as well as a handful of luxurious beachfront resorts.
Desaru waterpark contains a lot of fun fair facilities such as Swinging Ship, Surt wall, and Kraken's Revenge. Kraken's Revenge is a combination roller coaster and splashing flume ride that takes thrill-seekers up 30 meters before spinning through a full 360º horizontal loop, followed by a diving 27-meter drop to the shipwrecking Kraken sea monster waiting in the pool of water below.

At the Desaru Fruit Farm, you can pick your own juicy fruit! This 180-acre tropical Fruitland, which was named Malaysia's best agrotourism site in 2006, provides a fun and educational experience for visitors of all ages. The farm has a wide variety of fruits, including jackfruits, guavas, mangosteen, dragon fruit, and durians (during durian season, you can even have a durian buffet!).
