As part of the IBCP, students at GESS complement their Career-related Study with academically rigorous IB Diploma subjects. This combination strengthens both their theoretical knowledge and practical skills, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
All students take:
Mathematics (Applications & Interpretation)
Language B – choice of French, German, Spanish, or Mandarin
Students select two or more IB Diploma subjects from:
Business Management (HL/SL)
Economics (SL)
Design and Technology (HL/SL)
Sports Science (HL/SL)
Environmental Systems and Societies (SL)
Minimum of three IBDP subjects at either Higher Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL).
Students may take additional subjects if available and appropriate to their pathway.
To earn the IBCP certificate, students must:
Achieve a minimum score of 3 in at least two IB subjects.
Fulfil all CP Core components.
Successfully complete the Reflective Project.
Through this structure, GESS IBCP students gain both depth in their academic areas of interest and breadth across disciplines—preparing them for success in higher education and future careers.
