The Department of Anesthesiology was established concurrently with the opening of the GSIS General Hospital on February 8, 2004 , with Dr. Romulo Trinidad serving as its inaugural chairman.

The primary role of this department is to alleviate pain. Over the years, it has dedicated itself to serving the underprivileged and educating young physicians in Anesthesiology through a three-year residency training program.

Committed to ongoing enhancement, the department continuously upgrades its facilities for both service and educational purposes, reinforcing its commitment to achieving its vision and mission.
