Discussion: Social Media Experience - LIS 656

Here the prompt was asking us to discuss our experience with social media in the context of libraries. We could also share our experience as a social media user, observer or content provider. I explained my take on the pros and cons of social media and why I believe it is a great tool for libraries when it comes to marketing using social media strategically and systematically to solve the problem of getting folks involved is important for the development of the space.

Discussion Topic: AI Tools - LIS 656

For this discussion post we were tasked with writing a professional development plan on learning an AI tool of our choice. We had to outline a hypothetical long term plan breaking down our efforts to learn about an AI tool that we found. I chose Canva AI, suggesting a survey, experimentation with different prompts and I included a brief teaching and learning plan for a potential group of students who I would be teaching about this AI tool. This assignment also included the AI tools my peers found and it was interesting to see how they planned on taking on this new tech. 

Project Gantt Chart

For the Project Management assignment we created this gantt chart to help develop a detailed timeline for our hypothetical remodeling of the J.A. Jones Library. Taking into consideration the circumstances of the school, the timing, possible meeting times and the budget.  

Charter Manuscript - LIS 650

This document was a part of the Project Management assignment for LIS 650 in Spring 2025. My group and I created this project charter to outline what we will need in order reach our goal of hypothetically remodeling the library at Brevard College. This charter touches on the budget and any other resources we will need to access in order to complete this project.

Peer Evaluation for Project Management Assignment - LIS 650

For LIS 650, we were asked to individually evaluate the work completed in the Project Management assignment, as well as how we functioned as a group overall. We needed to share our feedback on our group mates, as well as on team dynamics while working on the project management assignment as a semester long project. I filled out this self refection and peer evaluation sheet to assess our completed project from our meetings to the fruition of the final product of the plan we created and everything in between.
