A Canada Visitor visa also referred to as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is an official document issued by a Canadian visa office that is placed in your passport to show that you have met the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident (either as a visitor, a student, or a worker). Prior to obtaining a Canada Tourist Visa, you must obtain a TRV.
Before traveling to Canada, anyone planning a vacation, family visit, or business trip should apply for a TRV. The TRV has several limitations that are contingent on a number of factors. It is not necessary for Canadian citizens or permanent residents to obtain a TRV in order to enter or return to Canada.
Eligibility :
You must meet certain requirements when submitting an application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in order to receive a TRV. The following are a few of these conditions:
You have to demonstrate that you intend to leave the nation following your visit.
You must be able to demonstrate that you have enough money to support yourself and any family members who are traveling with you.
You must be in good health and be prepared to perform a medical examination if necessary.
must be willing to have a police verification completed and have no criminal history.
must not work or study in Canada unless permitted to do so.
At the visa officer's request, you must be able to produce all supporting documentation.
Temporary residents traveling through Canada are likewise required to get a TRV. Your country of residence will determine this criterion. You can need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) if you don't need a visa to enter Canada. Find out if you require a visiting visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
Electronic Travel Authorization :
You may need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) if you are from a country that does not require a TRV in order to enter Canada. Before traveling to Canada, you must determine whether you require an eTA and submit an application for one.
Visa-exempt foreign nationals who enter Canada or pass through a Canadian airport must have an eTA in accordance with the new entry rules. An eTA is not necessary for U.S. citizens, Canadian citizens, or permanent residents who have a valid Canadian visa. Visa-exempt travelers do not require an eTA if they are entering Canada by land or water; it is only necessary if they are flying in.
According to their official website, the majority of eTA applications are accepted within minutes of submission, and the application fee is CAD $7. Before your application is accepted, you might need to provide certain papers. You will receive instructions via email within 72 hours if this occurs to you.
If your passport expires, an eTA may be valid for five years or less. You can visit Canada as frequently as you like for brief visits, typically lasting no more than six months, if you have a valid eTA.
