Eline

My journey at the University of Twente started in 2006 when I began my bachelor’s in Business Administration. I was born and raised in the Twente Region, so the University of Twente was not unfamiliar to me. After graduating from my master’s, I started working at the UT in 2012. Time has passed and within my career, I have taken on several positions over time. Because of these different positions, I have created a network within the university with colleagues from other faculties and service departments. Connections I still benefit from today.

In my daily life, I occupy the position of policy officer of education within the Faculty of Science and Technology, where I am involved in all the faculty’s educational matters and closely work together with the vice-dean of education. Within my position, I also function as the head of the faculty’s Education Support Office, where I manage a small team involved in faculty-related educational support.

In 2022, I put myself forward for the elections of the University Council and I was happy to be elected and honoured by the number of people who voted and trusted me to be part of the UT’s participation. As my current term comes to an end, I have decided to again put myself forward for the election. Being part of the University Council has been an honour and a learning process, where I like the engagement between staff and students.

My main interest is within the FPB (finance, personnel and business operations) committee but I also try to be involved in the OOS (education, research, students) committee. I listen to my colleagues and bring what I hear to the table. After all, the current financial situation affects all of us and it is important to voice the employee’s feelings and uncertainty in this matter. Furthermore, I have a critical eye and am not afraid to ask questions or oppose certain ideas where I keep the perspective of the UT community in mind.

I am looking forward to remaining within the council and to being able to proceed with the fruitful discussions we had so far.

Best regards,
