Campus Coalition
What do we stand for?
The Campus Coalition is a platform for the representation of employees in the University Council, the central participation council at the University of Twente. Members of Campus Coalition share their vision regarding the importance of the participation of students and employees in the formulation and implementation of the strategy of the university. Education and research are of course themes in this but the implementation also requires a sound employee and student policy, housing development, PhD policy and all kinds of day-to-day issues. Input from the UT community and regular discussion with the UT community through their representatives in the University Council. improves the quality of these policies.
The Campus Coalition is a platform to share the responsibility. It is not a political organization with a strict ideology that requires its members follow party discipline. We represent the employees of this university and with that comes differences in opinion. The employees within the Campus Coalition share their responsibility for a transparent policy decision process within the UT. Together they form an opinion, making use of each others expertise, background and experience. This shared responsibility allows to give sufficient attention to the large amount of decisions and information that passes through the University Council. At the same time together we are able to make a good connection between the central governance and the many different units in this university. This creates one of the bottom–up information routes vital for any large organization, certainly an organization of professionals, the University of Twente.
