This unit is about developing spreadsheets to store, analyse and manipulate data and present it to the viewer. Spreadsheets are a big part of many companies, and you will need to know how to use and create one if you want to pursue a career in IT. You will learn about why spreadsheets are used a lot and what they are used for. You will also learn how to review a spreadsheet and listen to feedback from others.

Learning goal 1 is to Understand the uses of spreadsheets and the features available in spreadsheet software packages. You will learn what a spreadsheet is. Also, what, and why they are used for. And you will explore the featured of spreadsheet software.

You will need to design a spreadsheet for an intended purpose. You will create a diagram that shows the proposed layout for the spreadsheet. You will test the test plan with test data to ensure that all formulas will work for the intended purpose. You will also propose an alternate design.

And finally, you will develop and test the spreadsheet. You will start by developing the spreadsheet and gaining feedback from others. This will provide you possible changes you will need to implement or give a reason why you did not. and finally review the finished spreadsheet.
