Happy to have you back for another edition of the Rocky Mountain Region's Callboard 'ONLINE'.
With this year's region convention Golden Spike Limited 2014 right around the corner, we have the latest updates for you, describing all the activities planned, new information on the fascinating clinics being offered and all the particulars to help plan your visit. Many thanks to Alan Anderson, Convention Chair and his team for supplying us with loads of great convention materials - best of luck with GSL2014!
I'm happy to announce a new feature - Dick Hunter's History Corner. For long-time region members and newcomers alike, these recollections are a valuable, educational and entertaining part of NMRA/RMR heritage - and there's some great video in this month's feature, too! We sincerely thank Dick for the idea, and a fine first installment.
This month's Technical Corner with Rex Beistle is outstanding - demonstrating what can go good, and bad, when working with DCC and it's electrical nuances. Rex has provided a wealth of information and illustrations that everyone will want to refer to.
Sadly, news this issue of the loss of one of our region's finest, Bob Trump. As superintendent of Estes Valley, Bob was a true leader, through efforts that not only expanded his club but the hobby as well. All of us send our thoughts along to the Trump family.
If you have an article, photo, or announcement you want to share with the Region, please send them our way for the next issue. My e-mail is jwp519@gmail.com - Doug Whetstone can be reached at uttrainman@gmail.com. The Callboard Summer Edition's deadline to get your articles, photos and videos to us by is July 18, 2014.
Your comments are welcome, so please send them our way. Improving and expanding the Callboard is our job and goal, but we need your help, too - members of the Rocky Mountain Region - because the Callboard is YOUR publication. We just want to make it the best it can be!
Now, back to the heavy lifting!
Jeff
