FRONT RANGE - DIVISION 16
The February meeting saw FRD stalwart Keeven Burnside present a clinic on aging strip wood and styrene used in scratch building. In addition, he had some information on the Rock Island “Texas Rocket” including, how he made the custom decals for it.
In March, we had a slide show on the movement of UP 4014 from the Rail Giants Museum at the LA County Fairgrounds to the Colton Yard, Paul Brennecke put the powerpoint presentation together.
Finally, April featured an interesting slide show on the Panama Canal Railway. This railroad preceded the building of the canal and, today, operates passenger trains and an exceptional amount of container traffic. Most of the containers are high priority that cannot wait for the ships to pass thru the canal. As usual, all meetings had a show and tell segment following the clinic. Good modeling and interesting discussion was beneficial to all the FRD modelers.
The Front Range Division meets in the main building (Delay Junction) of the Colorado Railroad Museum at 7:00 pm every third Monday to the month. Exceptions are in August when we have our picnic and December when we have our Christmas party.
