I hope many of you were able to attend Golden Spike Limited 2014, this year's regional convention in Salt Lake City. I was one of those fortunate to attend at least part of it, and in that short time was treated to some fantastic layout tours, informative clinics, and may have had time to stop in at a local hobby store as well.
If you weren't able to make it to GSL2014, then we'll try to take you there, even if it's after the fact. Dale Angell's Toy Man Television provides some fine video coverage of the event. And we'll show you a large portion of this year's Model Contest, too - many thanks to Bill Tulley for providing all that documentation.
Dick Hunter provides us our next chapter of the History Corner, sharing some region history - including that of early conventions. Another great installment - thanks Dick!
This edition's Technical Corner with Rex Beistle should give those of you working with DCC a 'boost', through no 'fault' of your own (after you read it this may make more sense - or not!).
If you have an article, photo, or announcement you want to share with the Region, please send them our way for the next issue. My e-mail is jwp519@gmail.com - Doug Whetstone can be reached at uttrainman@gmail.com. The Callboard Fall Edition's deadline to get your articles, photos and videos to us by is October 17, 2014.
Your comments are welcome, so please send them our way. Improving and expanding the Callboard is our job and goal, but we need your help, too - members of the Rocky Mountain Region - because the Callboard is YOUR publication. We just want to make it the best it can be!
Now, back to the heavy lifting!
Jeff
