FRONT RANGE - DIVISION 16 

The May meeting featured the Region President, Gary Myers, talking to the FRD about the state of the region and giving us a preview of the region convention in Salt Lake, the Golden Spike Limited.

In June the division was treated to a wonderful clinic on the Grand Central Terminal by Dick Luckin. Dick is a world-renowned expert on railroad china and an award-winning railroad video producer/director. He just finished a documentary on the Grand Central Terminal and showed it to our group. The documentary had interviews with historians and political personalities intimately involved with the facility in New York City. He finished off the clinic with a question and answer session which was very entertaining.

Finally, the July meeting featured a slide show of the highlights of the Golden Spike Limited convention. Jack Haptonstall and Paul Brennecke took photos of the Promontory Summit tour and all of the layouts on tour and put them in a Powerpoint presentation of all to enjoy. The meeting was also treated to a short tour of Pat Gillen’s layout. We viewed the layout via digital photos.

The Front Range Division meets in the main building (Delay Junction) of the  Colorado Railroad Museum at 7:00 pm every third Monday to the month. Exceptions are in August when we have our picnic and December when we have our Christmas party.

Dick Luckin, award winning producer/director of railroad videos, showed his latest work which was on the history of the Grand Central Terminal in New York City. Here, he answers questions from the division on producing the piece.

Jack Haptonstall and Paul Brennecke showed slides of the Golden Spike Limited convention in Salt Lake City for the July FRD meeting. Since we are lucky to meet in the Colorado Railroad Museum, if the clinic get boring we can look at the exhibits.
