ESTES VALLEY DIVISION JOINS
CELEBRATION OF LIFE
OF BOB TRUMP
The members of the Estes Valley Division joined the Trump Family and friends at the Trump home – The House that Bob Built – on June 29th. Laura Trump, ever the gracious host, invited us to share in the celebration of Bob’s life.
Visitors were greeted at a table carrying some of Bob’s modeling work, and invited to make name tags. A mine structure, a water tank, and a horse & wagon on a bit of corduroy road were on the table. The mine was probably modeled after something in Gilpin County, CO because that was one of Bob’s favorite areas of Colorado. The water tank somewhat followed the form of the D&RGW tank at Villa Grove or Jack’s Cabin. The wagon was typical of the ubiquitous farm wagons of America. The horses, well a horse is a horse, of course. The photo of the table reveals the extent of Bob’s enjoyment of scratch building visages of the Colorado mining days.
Laura told of the life she and Bob shared, marrying after they both finished college. The stories are too many for me to recount, but are laid up among their treasures of life.
Bob liked music, and Laura had music. Laura likes music as well, being skilled in piano among other things. Laura is a member of the Estes Park Bell Choir, and she was joined by others in the ringing of bells for Bob. The photo includes Laura as well as Lynn and Linda Patton. Lynn is our webmaster, Linda is talented with scenery. Two others, whose names I do not know, joined in the 5 person bell choir. An Estes Park musical group followed, one that was always greatly enjoyed by Bob. The violin player was a magician with the instrument, and the other two fellows were talented as well. The group’s rendition of TODAY made lumps that were hard to swallow.
You are a tough act to follow Bob Trump, but we will find the way – you broke trail for us.
