DIVISION MEETINGS

A spring meeting is held at the Central Wyoming Model Railroad Association Club in Casper in early May and a fall meeting is held at the Sheridan Model Railroad Association Club in Sheridan in late September.

In 2017 the spring meeting will be on May 6, 2017 and the fall meeting will be on September 30, 2017.

REGULAR PROGRAM

A short business meeting starts at 10:00am, followed by two or three short clinics.  In the afternoon,  there is usually a railroad-related tour to an interesting location or an operating session on one of the club or home layouts.

During this period, clinics were presented by:

Kurt Brown - FINDING ESSENCE - A discussion on what are the elements that make a believable model scene (color, texture, shape, uniqueness)

Scott Berge - CONTINUING FINDING ESSENCE – a discussion on modeling early Casper buildings

Willy Mills – MODELING THE NORTHERN PACIFIC BRIDGE AT BISMARCK, ND IN “N” SCALE – A demonstration illustrating the method of construction used to model this bridge in “N” scale

Bob Charles – GROVE FARM – A slide presentation on a Hawaiian sugar plantation railway

Bill Tulley – THE 1923 & 1924 FLOODS AT ARVADA, WY – A slide presentation on the results of two floods of the Powder River on the CB&Q Bridge at Arvada, WY.

SPECIAL EVENTS

The Sheridan Model Railroad Association holds an Open House for the public on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  The Central Wyoming Model Railroad Association holds an Open House for the public on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving.  They also have a display of railroad related items at the Trail Center in Casper every Friday and Saturday during December except for holidays
