Private Tutoring

Please email me at pkalis@tusd.net to inquire about private tutoring. Due to conflict of interest, I will not do paid private tutoring for students currently in my classes. Current students can email me for office hours or to ask for help.

Qualifications:

BS in Mathematics
Department chair at Tracy High School
Currently teaching AP Statistics, IB Math: Applications and Interpretation, and Algebra Readiness.
In the past I have taught every High School math course except Geometry.

Cost per hour:

1 person = $50
2 people = $70 ($35 per person)
3 people = $90 ($30 per person)
4+ people = $100 (cost divided among students)

Availability:

Changes week to week. Email to ask.

Location:

West Valley Mall Food Court, Starbucks, Zoom, or a mutually agreed upon location

Students getting tutored are welcome to email to ask questions as needed to pkalis@tusd.net. I can occasionally provide some help over MS Teams and/or Zoom. Any text messages must be CC'd with a parent/guardian or be sent in a group with other students (if there is a group being tutored).

How to prepare for a tutoring session:

To get the most out of a session, students should work on material beforehand and arrive with questions already prepared. To make best use of our time, please send more complex material that may require reading to me in advance (especially Statistics problems).
