March Meeting Minutes

CCESA MEETING MINUTES

DATE: Monday, March 6, 2017

PLACE: Travis Middle School Library

The meeting was called to order @ 4:37 pm by President, Valerie Treaster.

Opening Prayer was led by Valerie Treaster.

There were 18 members in attendance.

The minutes from the February 6th meeting were read by Lisa Gonzales. Minutes will be sent to Andi to put on CCESA Website. Carol Stewart made the motion to accept and Tammy Smalley seconded the motion.

Treasurer’s Report for February was read by Linda Reyes. Adele H. made the motion to accept and Yadira G. seconded the motion.

Refreshments were provided by CHS, J/R and C.O. and Door Prizes were provided by Travis.

New Business:

CHS Counselors gave Gwen the names for the Romeo and Juliet Project. They were nominated by the teachers. Gwen will get in contact with them and meet them. SCS is not doing the hair and Alyssa Costilla is not doing the makeup. Make Me Chic will do hair/nails. Adele said that Jackson Photography will donate the Tux. Adele will be donating the corsage and boutonniere. We will see if Maxine S. @ CHS can maybe do alterations on the dress if needed.

Humane Society donations are still being accepted. Valerie read the items needed. Valerie wants to get with Robin G. and have a picture taken with donated items for The Wave. Everyone is invited to take part. Contact Robin or Valerie for more information.

Appointing Committee for Nominating Officers for 2017-2018 School Year are: Adele H., Hannah H., and Andi M.

Old Business:

Replenish the Pantry was a success! Three carloads of items were donated. Thank you cards will be sent to the campuses that donated.

Adopt A Family update: Monetary Donations are still being accepted through today, March 6th. Yadira will contact The Harbor and find out what kinds of food we will be donating to the families. Items will be donated by Thursday, March 9th.

Upcoming Projects for 2017

March – “Adopt A Family” (Present groceries to families before Spring Break)

May - Prom 2017- “Romeo and Juliet Project” Chairpersons, Gwen Grigsby and Yadira Galindo

Other Business:

Member of the Month for February is Lori Leal

Next meeting will be on April 3rd@ 4:30 pm. Location – C.O. Boardroom

Refreshments will be provided by: Travis Middle School

Door Prizes will be provided by: CHS, Seadrift, JR
