RULES
· There is no record keeping of points, statistics or score sheets. Everyone wins!
· Regulation play time will be 2 innings or 1 hour 15 minutes in length (6pm- 7:15pm). All innings started MUST be completed in full. DO NOT start another inning if the time limit is almost up. (No new innings after 7 pm).
· All players will bat in each inning, with the last batter running all the way around the bases. All players are on the field for each inning.
Ages for tball are 4-6 years old
· The batter swings until they hit the ball.
· The batter must DROP the bat – do not throw it. If the batter throws the bat, they get one warning. A second infraction means that the batter is called out.
· T ball bats are only to be used. No hard ball bats.
· Infield consist of pitcher, catcher, 1st base, 2nd base, shortstop, 3rd base. All others play outfield.
· Coaches are encouraged to assist the batter by positioning him/her in the batter’s box.
· The ball must travel past the semi-circle (4 feet in radius in front of the home plate) for it to be a fair ball. No balls or strikes will be called and the game can be stopped at any time for instructional purposes.
· No extra bases are allowed on overthrown balls. Runners may only take one base on balls that stay on the infield.
· A batter that bats the ball to the grass outfield may take 2 bases.
· A batter will be called out if the fielding team makes a successful play at first base.
· The following is NOT ALLOWED – bunting, lead offs, stealing, sliding, pinch hitting.
· Infielders are not allowed to stand on the base line or the base.
· Coaches should alternate the players from the infield to the outfield and rotate their positions so that all the children get an equal opportunity to play in key positions.
· The ball should be thrown overhand, not rolled, when fielding the ball.
· Players are to throw the ball, not try and outrun the runner. Note: If the player runs and tags the runner, the runner is still out, but we are trying to teach the player to make the play by throwing the ball.
· When the runners are coming in to the home plate they must cross the safe line, not touch the home plate.
ORDER OF CALLS
· The umpire will call the first batter by saying “Batter Up”
· They will then say “Ready in the field” to make sure the players in the field are paying attention. The players should answer “Ready”
· The umpire shall then say “Play Ball”
