The CAAM Authority Members’ Strategic Retreat for 2026, held on 2 December 2025 at Dewan Kuliah, Malaysia Aviation Academy (MAvA), Sepang, provided a focused platform for the Authority Members and CAAM Senior Leadership team to deliberate and align on CAAM’s strategic direction for the coming year. Chaired by Dato’ Mohamed Sharil Tarmizi, Chairman of CAAM and attended by Authority Members together with Dato’ Captain Norazman Mahmud, Chief Executive Officer of CAAM, and the senior management team, the retreat covered robust discussions on CAAM’s 2026 strategic priorities, proposed strategic initiatives, financial budget and comprehensive manpower planning. The Chairman emphasised that CAAM’s strategies must deliver tangible benefits to stakeholders, particularly aviation industry players, and that all initiatives should be clearly linked to CAAM’s core regulatory and oversight functions as mandated under the Act, ensuring that CAAM continues to fulfil its statutory roles and responsibilities.
The retreat also put strong emphasis on developing internal capabilities by nurturing younger officers and building a sustainable talent pipeline, while also complementing this approach through targeted recruitment of experienced professionals from the industry. This balanced strategy aims to ensure that all CAAM personnel are provided with fair opportunities to enhance their competencies, progress in their careers and contribute meaningfully to the organisation’s long-term goals. The retreat concluded with a group photo session and a dinner gathering, providing an opportunity for informal engagement, reflection and strengthening of leadership cohesion in support of CAAM’s future aspirations.

CAAM 2026 Strategic Retreat was successfully held on 11–12 October 2025 at MAvA, Sepang. The session was attended by CAAM CEO, Dato’ Captain Norazman bin Mahmud, TCEO (Regulator) Captain Mohd Radzi bin Mohamad Alias, TCEO (Operations) En. Zainul Abidin bin Maslan, CFO, Puan Nor Haliza binti Hamzah, alongside directors and representatives from various divisions.
The retreat served as a platform to deliberate on CAAM’s strategic direction for 2026, emphasizing cost control, operational efficiency, and people development, as underscored by the CEO. At the conclusion of the retreat, a list of strategic initiatives was identified by the Strategy and Transformation Unit, which will undergo further review and refinement before being presented to Top Management and the Board for approval.
