Note: Housing subsidies are no longer available for newly admitted postdocs. However, if you wish to stay at CU iHouse at a discounted rate (10k THB per month). Please inform the Faculty of Engineering's staff to make a reservation for you.
Information on housing subsidies (applicable to only non-Thai citizens):
Those who are receiving housing subsidies will fall under one of these three situations:
Living at the residence of your choice: You are getting paid the monthly subsidies in cash along with the salaries. These are the people who started their contracts earlier (most likely before Year 2022). If you belong to this category, you will continue getting paid in cash as usual. No further action is required from you. People who start their contracts later will not get this option.
Living at CU iHouse: If you are staying at the CU iHouse, you will NOT get your monthly subsidies in cash, but the money will be transfer directly to CU i-House. (Nevertheless, you are obligated to pay extra costs or excess amounts beyond the subsidies out of your own pockets, such as room insurance and damage deposit, costs of utilities (such as electricity), etc.)
Living at VP Tower: If you are staying at VP Tower, you will get your monthly subsidies in cash along with the monthly salaries with the following conditions:
You must advance your monthly rental payment out of your own pocket and pay directly to VP Tower.
You will retain the payment receipt and present it to the Faculty of Engineering's staff as proof of payment no later than the 15th of every month.
We DO NOT accept an electronic copy. DO NOT send us the receipts via Line Chat or email.
You must submit the receipts in person and by yourself. We are unable to accept your receipt submitted by someone else on your behalf.
Failure to submit your payment receipts may result in the delay of your reimbursements.
You will no longer be required to present to your rent receipts to the Faculty of Engineering. However, you are responsible for keeping the receipts paid under your name for possible random inspection. If, at some point, you decide to opt out of VP Tower, that would imply that you do not get the monthly subsidies, and you will be responsible for informing the staff, so that they can put a halt on the rent subsidy portion (THB 10k) of your monthly stipends.
