FULL HISTORY

INTRODUCTION

Nico Parker is the younger half-sister of Billy Butcher. Nico is a force of nature, not a particular fan of supes and looking to forget her messy past. 

CHILDHOOD (tw. brief mentions of abuse/addictions)

Nico was born to Brenda Parker in the UK in 1982. She was born as a result of affair between Brenda and the married Sam Butcher. Nico never knew much about her father, with Brenda electing to raise her alone. 

The resulting childhood was a messy and turbulent one. Brenda wasn't one to hide her addictions or her nasty behaviour behind closed doors, especially around Nico. Even though Nico never had any physical injuries, Brenda never shied away from giving her some mental ones. Still at the time, Nico tried to do everything she could to try to keep her mom happy. The pair never settled anywhere for long, always moving to avoid social services getting wind of the situation. 

When Nico hit her teens, Brenda's behaviour led Nico to build more and more resentment towards her mother. That resentment turned to anger and when Nico was 18 she hit breaking point. Despite Brenda's protests, Nico cut her off and left home - never contacting her again. 

THE USA AND DARREN

Nico eventually moved to the States, in hopes to finally getting away from her mother once and for all. Whilst there Nico decides to join the military, all she has ever known is fighting so she decides to put that to good use. During her time a solider, she catches the eye of CIA recruiter that sees her potential. It isn't long before Nico is taken in and trained to be a CIA operative. 

This is when she meets Darren. Where Nico is impulsive and volatile, Darren is calm and kind. They shouldn't work, but they fall in love. And after a few short years they marry and begin living together in secret. For the first time in her life, Nico feels happy and loved. 

MEETING BUTCHER AND THE BOYS

Nico (alongside Darren) come across and meet the boys during their initial workings with the CIA, when their assigned to give them aid during a mission. One mission turns into two into three and then more. The pair become well acquainted with them. Nico especially connects with Butcher, recognising their eerie similarities. It's during a conversation that surprising delves into some of their personal history, that Nico starts to realise that maybe there's more to their similarities than she first thought. 

TREMOR TRAGEDY

Facing down supes in their toughest mission overseas, Nico and Darren are backed into a corner. The boys are tied up elsewhere, and the married pair have nowhere to go. Whilst trying to brainstorm a solution, and explosion rips the two from the ground. Despite all her years in combat, this the first time Nico has ever been so close to one. The ringing in her ears feels overwhelming and something feels off. 

Darren pulls her to her feet trying to get her back, but Nico can't shake the feeling that the ringing from the explosion has changed something. That's when it happens... everything begins to shake. An earthquake? No... it's Nico. The powers she had always had were now awakened and out of control. Realising what's happening, Nico tries to warn Darren to get him to leave her. She can't stop it. 

But he won't go. And despite his efforts, a shockwave blasts out from Nico knocking Darren back. He hits a wall, dying on impact. Realising what she's done, Nico loses control again - bringing down the entire building in her grief. 

When awake, Nico is faced with MM, Frenchie and Butcher. They don't need to tell her that's she's the only survivor, that Darren's gone. She knows.. she knows it's her fault. In her grief, she pushes them all away and throws the blame at Butcher for Darren's death. It's a cheap blow, she knows. But in her own way, she thinks pushing them away will save them from her destructive nature. Especially Butcher, who now she knows is her half-brother. 

Nico cuts them all out of her life, never telling them about her powers or what happened. Instead she confides in Grace Mallory, who takes her to a secluded cabin to learn how to use her powers so something like this will never happened again. And thus Project Tremors in born. After a year, Nico returns to the CIA but only for desk duty, she vows never to return to the field again - living her life in solitude. 

Well a lot could change after several years... right? 

A FAMILY REUNION (Season 4)

Nico finally reunites with the one man she tried so hard to push away... Billy Butcher. Given his terminal diagnosis, he plans to make amends and reconnect with her. Nico pushes back at first, but upon learning about his limited time left she caves. He is her brother after all... even if she still hasn't told him yet (and neither has he told her - both aware of the secret but unaware the other knows). 

All it takes is 6 months and Nico finds herself throwing herself back into the mix with The Boys - reconnecting with both M.M and Frenchie. It's rough going, but Nico promises Butcher she'll help him get Ryan away from Homelander. What could go wrong?

After the mess of the V'd sheep and failure at the virus, Project Tremors is stumbled upon. Mallory doesn't betray Nico's trust, but it forces Nico into a corner. A corner where she has no choice but to reveal her truth to the Boys and to the one person she was terrified to... Butcher. 

It gets messy, of course it does. But with everything out in the open (including the knowledge that both Butcher and Nico knew they were siblings), perhaps they can move forward. And maybe Nico can actually start putting her powers to good use.

Nico is an air-genasi ranger who spent much of her childhood moving from home to home with her mother. Nico and her mother had a complicated and messy relationship, one that led Nico to finally run away. From here she joined the Zhentarium as a faction agent, it's here she met and learned about her half-brother. Nico now travels around working missions for the Zhentarium faction to get by. 

Marvel

Nico's life is pretty similar to her general verse. She still works in shadow ops in the CIA with her brother and his team. She's still cynical about heroes. And her powers were given to through Compound V from Vought (Vought is a shadow organisation here - conducting experiments on babies in the hopes to recreate the super soldier serum). Except now Nico sometimes finds herself working with some of the heroes she was so cynical about - often on loan from the CIA to aid the Thunderbolts/New Avengers. She still hides away her powers as much as possible.
