Maggie has a good heart and a strong will. Much like her grandfather, Maggie tends to make a stand for what she thinks is right even if that means going against the world. She tends to try and see the good in others, but it doesn’t necessarily mean she trusts easily - especially when it comes to the government. Maggie doesn’t tend to stand for injustice and isn’t one to compromise her morals for anyone. She is never one to back down from a fight.

Margaret “Maggie” Rogers is the daughter of James and Alyson Rogers, and granddaughter to Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter. Maggie was born as a result of her grandfather travelling back in time after the events of Endgame and the defeat of Thanos. She grew up on stories of her grandfather’s time in the future and tales of the Avengers. Ultimately deciding she wanted to follow in her grandfather’s footsteps and continue his legacy.
Childhood
Maggie was born to James and Alyson Rogers in their small home centred in Manhattan. Unlike her father and aunt, her grandfather’s abilities didn’t seem to skip her as at four years old she managed to throw a baseball through a stone concrete wall. Realising what this could mean for Maggie, her parents especially her mother, Alyson were adamant on Maggie hiding such abilities - knowing the kind of attention that could draw.
Maggie grew up very much in the shadows, hidden away from the world - a world that at some point would bring about the age of the Avengers. Her father, James served in the military and Maggie grew accustomed to him not being home. As a kid she spent much of her time with her mother or her grandfather, Steve with whom she was very close. She considered him her hero, one day wanting to grow up and be just like Captain America.
Unfortunately Maggie lost her father, James when she was seventeen - he died in combat overseas. It broke her heart but made her realise who she wanted to be - a soldier just like her father and grandfather before her. So she signed up as soon as she finished school - not looking.
Military Service & Staying In The Shadows
Maggie knew how much it meant to her mother to keep a low profile, so Maggie used her mother’s maiden name for enlisting. She knew the dangers connecting herself to her grandfather’s legacy could bring her and her family. Not wanting to put her mother in any danger, Maggie kept her enhanced abilities hidden - knowing the attention that could bring. Maggie served for many years within the US Military, taking her service to her country very seriously.
Her service eventually led her into the world of spies and espionage, taking much after her grandmother, Peggy. Once again, Maggie committed herself to her work and service to her country. She was very good at her work, learning how to blend in and gather intelligence. Maggie kept her head down, not making herself known to the Avengers or even her own younger grandfather at her grandmother, Peggy’s funeral. As much as Maggie wanted to make herself known, she often worried about the target that could paint on her mother’s back. She’d already lost one parent and didn’t want to lose another.
After The Blip
Like many others throughout the universe, Maggie was unfortunately blipped away by Thanos’ snap. When she returned 5 years later, Maggie reunited with her mother and aunt, who she had learnt in the time she was gone had developed early on-set dementia (similar to her grandmother). Realising how much her family needed her, Maggie gave up her life of military service and spies to support her family.
However giving up that life, the drive to be a hero was not something Maggie could easily shake. Especially when six months later she learns about the Flag Smashers and witnesses John Walker taking on the mantle that Steve had entrusted Sam with. Knowing she couldn’t walk away, Maggie breaks a promise to her mother and decides to delve into the Flag Smasher situation herself. A decision that results in her crossing paths with her grand-father’s friends, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes.
Into The Spotlight
Maggie meets Sam and Bucky in Madripoor, where she poses as a Secret Service Agent tracking down Zemo after his escape. She hides behind the alias Maggie Doyle, not wanting to alert Zemo to her true identity (a means to protect her family). This lie continues as she joins Sam, Bucky and Zemo on their mission to stop Karli, reasoning that she will ensure Zemo remains in their custody and will return to prison after. Suspicion still floats in the air from all sides as Maggie showcases a lot of personal reactions to certain things. The super soldier serum, her feelings on the shield being in Walker’s hands and her seemingly trusting nature with Sam & Bucky. It is only after the altercation with the Flag Smashers that results in Lemar’s death, that the truth eventually comes out.
Bucky witnesses Maggie using her true strength, exposing herself as a super soldier. After Sam and Bucky reclaim the shield from Walker, Bucky confronts her over the truth. Maggie spills everything, revealing who she really is. Despite their initial disbelief, Maggie shares details about them that only Steve could know. She eventually makes up for lying, coming to Sam and Bucky in Louisiana to apologise and explain herself. With no more lies or hidden truths, Maggie joins the team in stopping Karli.
Becoming An Avenger
Maggie becomes more than just a confidant, she becomes a trusted ally and friend to both Sam and Bucky. She joins Sam on their various exploits along with Joaquin. Now a full fledged member of the new Team Cap, Maggie adopts the alias “Starling”. Her new team becomes more than her partners, eventually Maggie views the three of them as family. Her exploits as “Starling” and being a trusted friend of Sam’s, earns Maggie a position within Sam's Avengers (although she sometimes works with Bucky's New Avengers too - drifting between the teams).

AU VERSES
Dungeons & Dragons
Maggie is a half-elf fighter who grew up very much in the spotlight. She comes from a family of notorious heroes, including her grandparents and father. Much like them, Maggie aims to travel the land helping others, slaying monsters and protecting the peace as a hero. Her family name Rogers is known throughout but she tries not to rely on it, preferring to remain humble.
Earth 4070
Maggie grew up with a massive legacy, the Captain America legacy. First the shield was her grandfather, Steve's then her father, James' ... now since James died saving them from Thanos it's Maggie's. Together alongside her father's best friend, the Falcon, Riley and her aunt, the Black Widow, Yelena Belova - Maggie begins to find her feet as the new Captain America. (Here Steve never went in the ice, instead passing the legacy through his family. Also Sam died instead of Riley, with Riley becoming the Falcon instead. Natasha is Maggie's mother and Yelena has taken Natasha's mantle as Natasha has settled into a semi-retired/mentor role after losing her husband. Tony is also like an Uncle to Maggie, as Tony and James grew up together thanks to Steve and Howard's friendship).
Earth 616 (Comics)
Maggie is very similar to her Earth 4070 verse, here she ends up stuck in the 616 verse from an alternate Earth. On her Earth Steve never went into the ice, he's still her grandfather and was Captain America (a legacy passed to her father when Steve retired). Maggie grew up with the Avengers, eventually become one herself. After an experiment gone wrong, Maggie finds herself unable to go home and now in an alternate reality. She joins the 616 Avengers, reconnecting with a younger version of her grandpa and some of the heroes she once knew.
