Belmont Women's Golf Association
Our Mission
The BWGA promotes an atmosphere that fosters friendship and community for women who have a common interest in the game of golf. The BWGA provides friendly competition and social activities among its members as well as opportunities to play in a more competitive environment against other Golf Clubs both individually and in teams. We value mutual respect, the desire to improve our game, and to learn and adhere to USGA rules. The BWGA works in cooperation with the golf staff and management of the Belmont Country Club.
About the BWGA
Established in 2001, the BWGA offers something for golfers at any level. Aside from the opportunities listed below, you will have a chance to meet other women golfers with whom you can organize tee times outside BWGA events.
Our season starts in April and goes through the end of October. We celebrate the season with an awards banquet in November to recognize our achievements and to distribute awards and payouts.
2024 Annual membership dues are dependent upon your Belmont golf membership type. Members who join after July 15th will pay half of the annual dues.
Preferred Belmont Golf Member (golf privileges starting at 1:00 pm) - $50
Premier Belmont Golf Member (full golf privileges) - $100

CLINICS - The Professional Staff at Belmont offer the BWGA two complimentary clinics to kick off the season. Based on interest, Belmont conducts a monthly clinic for women at a nominal fee of $15 per person. Some examples of past clinics include: bunker play, putting and course management. These clinics are a great benefit for the BWGA.
TUESDAY MORNINGS RISE AND 9 - 9 Holes starting at 9:00 on Tuesdays.
TUESDAYS AT 2:00 - Perfect for Preferred members, Play 9 or 18 holes starting at 2:00 on Tuesdays. No stress or special formats, just play.
WEDNESDAY PLAY DAY - 18 holes of golf with a fun game added to the mix. We tee off Wednesday mornings from April to October (unless otherwise noted). Winners are paid each week in the form of a credit to your account.
TEE TO TAVERN - Play 9 holes on Thursdays, teeing off around 5:00 p.m. A great way to unwind at the end of the day or if your work schedule does not allow you to play on Tuesday or Wednesday. Play 9 holes, usually in scramble format, then to the Tavern for food and conversation.
SPECIAL TOURNAMENTS - Usually scheduled on a Saturday, and not to be missed! The tournament formats vary from team scrambles to 2-woman teams. Whatever the format, it's guaranteed to be a hoot with an element of competition.
INTERCLUB LEAGUES - For the golfer craving more competition with a bonus of playing other private courses, we've got you covered! As part of your membership in the BWGA, you are eligible to join these Interclub leagues: ARFAX, WDCGA, Home To Home, and Career Women Interclub League. Some leagues have membership requirements and annual dues. You will compete with many women in the VA/DC/MD area with like handicaps.
Eligibility for Prospective members:
You must be at least 18 years of age
You are a female, amateur golfer
You are a golf member of Belmont Country Club (Premier or Preferred Golf membership)
All BWGA members are strongly encouraged to have a valid USGA handicap to participate in golf competitions hosted by the BWGA. However, those without a valid USGA handicap will be designated as scratch players.
If you do not have a GHIN account to track your handicap index, please contact the Pro Shop to sign up. The cost is $37.50 per year, per individual handicap.
