Belmont Women's Golf Association

Our Mission

The BWGA promotes an atmosphere that fosters friendship and community for women who have a common interest in the game of golf. The BWGA provides friendly competition and social activities among its members as well as opportunities to play in a more competitive environment against other Golf Clubs both individually and in teams. We value mutual respect, the desire to improve our game, and to learn and adhere to USGA rules. The BWGA works in cooperation with the golf staff and management of the Belmont Country Club.

Here is a list of our scheduled activities, with a short description of each. Be sure to click on the appropriate page on the menu above for more information.

CLINICS - The Professional Staff at Belmont offer the BWGA two complimentary clinics to kick off the season. Based on interest, Belmont conducts a monthly clinic for women at a nominal fee of $15 per person. Some examples of past clinics include: bunker play, putting and course management. These clinics are a great benefit for the BWGA.

RISE AND NINE - A great way to start the day! Tuesday mornings with tee times starting at 9:00. No special format or games. Play your own ball for an opportunity to post scores for you handicap index.

FORE AT FOUR - Perfect for Preferred members, Play 9 or 18 holes starting at 4:00 on Tuesdays. No stress or special formats, just play golf!

WEDNESDAY PLAY DAY - 18 holes of golf with a fun game added to the mix. We tee off Wednesday mornings from April to October (unless otherwise noted). Winners are paid each week in the form of a credit to your account.

TEE TO TAVERN - Play 9 holes on Thursdays, teeing off around 5:00 p.m. A great way to unwind at the end of the day or if your work schedule does not allow you to play on Tuesday or Wednesday. Play 9 holes, usually in scramble format, then to the Tavern for food and conversation. 

MAJOR TOURNAMENTS - Scheduled on a weekend day, and not to be missed! The tournament formats vary from team scrambles to 2-woman teams. Whatever the format, it's guaranteed to be a hoot with an element of competition. 

INTERCLUB LEAGUES - For the golfer craving more competition with a bonus of playing other private courses, we've got you covered! As part of your membership in the BWGA, you are eligible to join these Interclub leagues: ARFAX, WDCGA, Home To Home, and Career Women Interclub League. Some leagues have membership requirements and annual dues. You will compete with many women in the VA/DC/MD area with like handicaps.
