Artisan Pro X 2022 for PS CC 2020 and higher only.
Recently Adobe introduced PS CC 2022 v23.0.0.0, followed almost immediately by v23.0.0.1. The first update introduced several errors in the B&W Artisan Pro X 2021 panel that affected the functionality of the Advanced Adjustments and MicroZone adjustments sections negatively and also to some extent the Creating Depth and Restore sections.
We have found a solution for those newly introduced issues and we will be releasing this free update, for existing Artisan Pro X 2021 users only, around the weekend. The update is called Artisan Pro X 2022, to keep in sync with PS naming conventions. Artisan Pro X 2022 will only work with PS CC 2020 and higher. You will be informed of the update via the same email address that is registered in our system when you’ve purchased the 2021 version of our panel.
This is an essential update to ensure the panel will work as advertised in PS CC 2022 as well. The Artisan Pro X 2022 update will also work with PS CC 2021 (backward compatibility) in case you don’t want to update to PS CC 2022. Therefore make sure to also check your spam folders or add info@bwvision.com to your contact list to receive the update notification.
As announced last year, all older versions of Artisan Pro X before Artisan Pro X 2021 will not be supported anymore next year. All older versions of Artisan Pro X (without the 20xx identification) however will continue to work fine with PS CC version 2021 or older but not older than 2019. If you’re a user of our older Artisan Pro X panels and want to upgrade to the latest Artisan Pro X 2022, then we will provide you with a temporary 40% OFF discount code at the launch of Artisan Pro X 2022.
Apart from the technical fix, we’ve also added a new image upscale/resize feature based on AI technology to ensure that resizing the image to a much larger image won’t result in degraded image quality. Furthermore, the ‘Cloud button’ in the panel will now refer to a new Artisan Pro X repository site with all available documentation, manuals, news, blog posts and other relevant information. This new Artisan Pro site will become the primary information hub where we will have the latest news on the panel and Photoshop updates that impact the panel.
Finally, the new Adobe PS CC 2022 update introduced automatic object masking features that benefit the typical features of the Artisan Pro X panel profoundly and positively in such a way that the process of creating high-quality fine art images not only becomes faster but also more accurate. Especially in those cases where natural objects are involved. Think landscapes, portraiture, and still life. But also architectural images.
The goal of creating a tool to make the artistic process truly artistic and intuitive and less technical has now come even closer with the new PS updates.
To give an overview of those PS CC 2022 changes in relation to the Artisan Pro X 2022 update, I will conduct a 1-hour free webinar on Sunday 21 November 2021.
*Editorial note November 13, 2021*
After various tests, we have now come to the conclusion that the initial errors in our B&W Artisan Pro panels caused by the v23.0.0.0 release, were the result of a buggy Adobe PS CC 2022 v23.0.0.0 release. The error had nothing to do with our panels. The PS errors have been fixed by Adobe with the v23.0.0.1 release. This means that also B&W Artisan Pro X 2021 will now also work on Adobe PS CC 2022 v23.0.0.1 but not on the 'buggy' PS CC 2022 v23.0.0.0 version that didn't have a very long lifespan anyway. Nevertheless, it is highly recommended to update the panel to B&W Artisan Pro X 2022 since this new panel update has been optimized, and is less vulnerable, to specific bugs that Adobe PS can potentially release in the future. It is simply more robust. This apart from the new image upscale feature we introduced with Artisan Pro X 2022 and the new cloud button that points to an entirely new Artisan Pro X information and news hub.
